Taking part in the census is your chance to help make sure you and your community get the services you need for next 10 years and beyond. The information you give in the census helps provide the best picture of the needs of everyone in England and Wales. Organisations such as local authorities and charities use this picture to plan and fund the services, we all need, including transport, education and healthcare.
Some key points to remember while filling your information:• Though some information is voluntary, we strongly recommend that you fill those sections to make us stronger together and get funding for our elders and community centres.• Please include National Identity, which is different to citizenship, it is the country you consider as home -for e.g.one can list both British and Indian if you identify yourself as both – especially true for most of us who are British Indians.• Please include details of your religion e.g., Hindu and language e.g., Marathi as public funding depends on this information This information may help in getting GSCE Marathi or Hinduism as religious education subject in schools or funding for Hindu chaplains from the government.• Do not mention sects of a religion as funding for a particular religion likely to get split if sub sects within that religion are listed. It is advisable to refer to main religion than list it as a sub sect of that religion.
